This week the Hockey News Magazine released their QMJHL rankings and listed Montreal as the 2nd best team in the Q, trailing only the Saint John Sea Dogs. The teams are ranked 1 through 18.
During the Juniors' first season (2008-2009) they were ranked 6th / 18 teams. Last season (2009-2010) they were ranked 17th / 18 teams.
The magazine also produces a list of 10 QMJHL players of whom they feel are the best NHL prospects due to be picked at the 2011 NHL entry draft. Montreal Juniors defenseman Xavier Ouellet ranks #4 on this list. Ex-Montreal Junior defenseman Dillon Donnelly ranks 9th overall. Donnelly was dealt to Shawinigan this summer as part of a deal that saw star defenseman Charles-Olivier Roussel come back Montreal's way.
